Nick Diaz and KJ Noons had a fight full of grandstanding and showmanship. The fight was back and forth but Diaz proved to ne the more decisive of the two and managed a unanimous decision. Diaz started strong initiating the fight with a boxing duel, landing strikes that left Noons wobbly-legged and knocked him down. Despite this the challenger recovered quickly and returned to the striking exchanges. The third and forth rounds saw Diaz open up his striking game and land a torrade of clean shots and lower his guard to taunt the challenger. Noons didn`t let it go lightly and dropped his guard in response. Nevertheless, it didn`t matter as rounds 3 and 4 were all Diaz. In the 5th and final round, Noons, realizing that he was behind, attacked fiercely and landed some powerful shots. It was too late though and the unanimous decision went to Diaz.

In the end the fight went toa split decision and Thompson was declared the winner
